Advancing Student Achievement Program (ASAP) allows former CSUN students the ability to enroll in CSUN’s Fall Semester, Spring Semester and Summer Sessions.
ASAP for CSUN Alum
If you are a recent graduate or alumni of CSUN, you are eligible to enroll in courses through ASAP.
Important notice:
- Enrollment is on a space available basis (even with a permission number), as CSUN degree-seeking students have enrollment priority. Also, the waitlist feature is not available during enrollment.
- CSUN students who are not currently admitted and enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CSUN, are eligible to enroll in courses.
- This program does not issue a SEVIS Form I-20 to re-enter or remain in the U.S.
- For limits on degree-applicable credits, see: Applying Credit to a CSUN Degree.
HOW TO GET STARTED
Step 1: Visit CSUN Class
Search to search for classes.
Prerequisites
A prerequisite is a course or condition that must be completed/met prior to enrollment in another specified course. For instance, X may be a prerequisite for Y, therefore, you will be required to have taken and passed X in order to enroll in Y.
Step 2: Activate your CSUN Account.
Former CSUN Students will not need to create a new account. To activate your account, log into your MyCSUN portal with your CSUN user ID and password information. If you do not recall your information, please can contact CSUN IT at 818-677-1400 for assistance.
Step 3: Request a Permission Numbers (to enroll).
A permission number may be required to enroll, especially, if you have not met the prerequisites or if they have been taken at another school.
Helpful tip: Look for sections that have open seats and request permission numbers for alternate sections.
To request a permission number, follow the steps below:
- Based upon your selected class, note the department in which it is being offered
- Email the department using the Department Directory and include the following in the body of your email:
- Introduce yourself as a student enrolling through the Tseng College's Advancing Student Achievement Program (ASAP) as a CSUN Alum
- Include your CSUN ID number and full name.
- Include the class number and information (ex: ART 100 #12345)
- If there is a prerequisite for the course, include a copy of your unofficial transcript.
- If you receive a permission number, proceed to the next step to enroll in a class.
Step 4: Enroll in a class.
For steps to enroll, see How to Enroll.
