Enrollment Restrictions
Maximum Unit Load: 4 units. The 4-unit restriction is applied to the term as a whole. Students in good standing may request additional units, up to a maximum of 6 units, by completing the Extra Unit Authorization form.
Prior to enrolling in courses, students should review their student portal and clear any registration holds that would block enrollment.
Repeating Courses
Students registered in a CSUN course in Fall Semester 2023 cannot register to repeat that course during Winter Term 2024 until grades for the Fall Semester are posted. If grades for Fall Semester 2023 are not posted in time for the student to register for Winter Term 2024, the student will have to wait until Spring Semester 2024 to repeat the course.
Third Repeat: Enrolling in an individual course for the third time is generally not permitted. For exceptions, consult your academic advisor and complete the Third Repeat Approval Request (PDF).
